Helen Skelton opens up about 'relationship goals' after Gethin Jones rumours

Helen Skelton has opened up about her love life "goals" after addressing rumours about a romance between her and Gethin Jones. Discussing the BBC series Lost and Found in the Lakes, the 42-year-old said the stories featured on the show had made her reflect on her own romantic aspirations. The series, filmed in the Lake District, follows experts who track down lost or stolen treasured possessions from the region's lakes. Speaking about the show's concept, Helen noted that many of the recovered items "represent something" really important.

She highlighted one example of jewellery; a man's very first present from his wife of 40 years. She said: "It really taps into the value of sentiment, which is kind of an old fashioned thing in this day and age," she told Radio Times Magazine's YouTube channel." Admitting she'd like a realtionship like that, she went on: "You're giving them back a ring that they lost ages ago. They start talking about the day that they met 60 years ago and the old romantic in me goes, 'Oh, I want that!'" "You know, I watch all these couples walk out of here and I'm like that's life goals isn't it? To spend your whole life with someone navigating ups and downs, jobs, kids, everything that life throws at you and life throws nonsense at you.

To still be holding someone's hand at the end of all that is... that's the payday." Helen was married to rugby player Richie Myler, with whom she shares three children. She announced their separation in 2022 following eight years of marriage, stating at the time: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children." While he has since moved on, Helen has not publicly confirmed a new relationship.

However, she has been romantically linked to her Morning Live co-starGethin, but she has dismissed claims they are romantic. The duo reportedly shared spa visits and looked particularly close at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards last year. In December 2025, she told Prima magazine that their relationship is purely platonic. When questioned by The Mirror about whether they had been on additional dates, she responded: "No, well, he's in Manchester working away, so yeah, no, all good.

We just work together, we are not together. No, no, no. We are just work friends. They printed pictures of us at work and that we're together because we are at work together." Discussing his friendship with Helen last year, Gethin told The Sun: "We are very supportive of each other, we like do look out for each other.
