NADI, FIJI – Fiji Airways has confirmed a strategic pivot in its international network, announcing the suspension of its Nadi-to-Dallas (DFW) service effective September 7, 2026. The move comes as the national carrier grapples with a volatile global energy market and shifting passenger trends, despite record-breaking tourism numbers for the archipelago.
The Balancing Act: Fuel vs. Growth

US Connectivity: The airline will maintain up to 11 weekly flights to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO).
Onward Travel: Through its partnership with American Airlines, travelers from the Dallas hub can still connect to Fiji via the California gateways.
Vancouver Upgrade: Starting September 8, the Vancouver service will be "upgauged" from the A330 to the flagship Airbus A350-900, reflecting surging demand from the Canadian market.
Asian Expansion: Hong Kong frequencies will increase to four flights per week year-round starting in late September.
