Former USA star Alexi Lalas was left red-faced after delivering a naughty swear word on live television that left Thierry Henry mortified. The ex defender - who represented his country at the World Cup finals in 1994 - was on punditry duty alongside Arsenal hero Henry and Swedish icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Fox Sports' coverage of this summer's tournament. And things went horribly wrong when presenter Lowe asked the former LA Galaxy and Padova centre back about comedian turned TV presenter James Corden, who has made a name for himself in the States after crossing the pond from the UK. Lowe asked the panel: "Can we talk about James Corden for a second..." before Lalas quickly cut in, saying: "What do you guys call him?
A full-kit w*****? He's all dressed up and ready to go! Those remarks immediately dumbfounded 1998 France World Cup winner Henry, who turned to Lowe and said: "Did he just say that?" while Inter Milan, Ajax and Juventus favourite Ibrahimovic tried to hide his shock by laughing it off. A speechless Lowe then tried to recover this situation, stating: "(We are) lucky that we are on American television, because the 'w' word on British television, no no.
But you are going to go and visit James, right?" Fans on social media quickly noticed the blunder, with one user on X commenting: Thierry's face when he hears 'full-kit w*****' on US telly: 'Mon Dieu, this is why I left Arsenal for Barcelona .'" Another replied: "Henry’s face! I thought Brendan Rodgers had been sacked again!!" A third said: "This clown sums up the entire FOX coverage!!! We gave been tortured for years with His stupidity!!" And a fourth wrote: "Lol even Zlatan was like oooh... and that's a lot to say.." Get Daily Record Premium for just £1 per month in an exclusive offer to celebrate the World Cup. Click HERE .
