McDonald’s is serving up a new round of limited-time combos and keepsakes in honor of the upcoming 2026 Fifa World Cup. The quadrennial international men’s soccer championship — jointly hosted across Canada, Mexico and the U.S. this year — is set to begin June 11, with an opening match between Mexico and South Africa at Mexico City Stadium. In honor of the occasion, McDonald’s has announced its FIFA World Cup 26 Happy Meal and Meal, available at participating U.S. restaurants this month. For the adult meal option, which launched June 4, customers can choose between a Big Mac and a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets box, paired with the limited-edition, gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce.
For breakfast, fans will also get a soccer-themed freebie if they order the Sausage McMuffin with Egg or Sausage Egg Biscuit and Hash Browns. When ordering either of the meals, customers will receive one of nine collectible cups featuring Grimace — a fluffy purple mascot from the McDonald’s universe — or any of these eight soccer icons: Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies and Santiago Gimenez. Starting June 9, McDonald’s customers can get the FIFA World Cup 26 Happy Meal, with the usual choice of entree, side and drink.
However, this offering includes one of 23 Squishmallows plushies, including three toys that honor the hosts of the World Cup: Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. Other collectibles will wear a different tournament-inspired jersey, representing the international teams competing in the soccer event. “At McDonald’s, magic happens when families, friends, and fans come together and celebrate with the people they love. Partnering with the FIFA World Cup 26 allows us to take that shared joy and bring it to life at a global scale through our food, our experiences, and the ways fans connect with the game,” Morgan Flatley, Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of New Business Ventures at McDonald’s, said in a statement. “As football icons take the field to unite fans across continents, McDonald’s will be there from the first whistle to the final minute with limited-time meals and keepsakes so fans of all ages can be part of the excitement all tournament long and beyond.” Pulisic, the captain of the U.S. Men’s National Team, added in a statement: “Growing up, it was our ritual after soccer tournaments to go to our McDonald's near Hershey, PA for Chicken McNuggets and a McFlurry.
Those memories were a core part of my childhood and an experience I still share with my teammates today. To now be featured on a McDonald's collectible cup all these years later is a full-circle moment.” The promotion is expected to run through mid-July, when the World Cup ends, or until supplies last.
