Using a walk off single by Collin Winslow, New Fortune defeated Maniatty Reality, 2-1, in the decisive game three of the GMLB Majors Division championship on Tuesday at Lunt Field. In the bottom of the sixth, Sean Winslow got hit by a pitch before a stolen base brought him to second base. Collin Winslow’s line shot brought his brother home for the game-winning run. Sean Winslow (four innings) and Collin Winslow (two innings) combined for 12 strikeouts.
Toby Campbell also had a brilliant performance on the mound with 13 strikeouts for Maniatty Reality. Ellis Hayman had a hit for the Realtors. Elijah Lawler (RBI) and Reed Kelley had hits for New Fortune. Chris Baker had a run scored for Maniatty Reality.
In the Ponytail championship at festive Murphy Park, Triton Automotive capped an undefeated season with a 7-6 win over Descavich Plumbing & Heating on Tuesday. Triton finished its season 17-0-1. In the circle, Lindsey Hawkins fell behind early but steadied the team as it made the comeback against Descavich. Hawkins finished with 11 strikeouts.
Descavich held a 5-0 lead going into the fourth inning. Addie Abercrombie hit a two-run triple to ignite the comeback for Triton. Clara Behan’s two-run hit gave Triton the lead. Sophia LaPan had two hits for Triton, while Hawkins added another hit.
Lexi Berry had a no-hitter going into the fourth inning for Descavich, finishing with nine strikeouts. Leah Batiste had an inside-the-park home run for Descavich. Registration for Greenfield United’s fall season is officially underway. Greenfield United is a competitive, private travel soccer club for young soccer players across the Greenfield area.
The league offers competitive player development opportunities for boys and girls. U8-U14 teams train twice a week and play weekly matches against other competitive club teams from towns across the Pioneer Valley. Our Rookies Group (ages 5-7) train once a week to build essential soccer motor skills. There will be mandatory tryouts for all U8-U14 players on Wednesday, July 8th and Tuesday, July 14th.

Kevin Mendez scored 13 points for Rattigan, with Tae Williams adding 12 points. Liberty Tax Sharks 15, Tavern Tigers 1 —The Sharks topped the Tigers behind Kenzie Bardwell’s three hits and three RBI. Che Christi added three RBI with a couple doubles. Trevor Thomas had two triples for the Sharks.
Brian Ginnity had three hits for the Tigers.
